I have to say I'm not sure about this one. I feel like maybe I should crop out the bottom bit with her whit shirt, but then she's missing her elbow and that looks awkward too. Any suggestions?

This is a lovely photo. The cropping works well, If you were going to change it i would get rid of all the white areas. Make her face take up the width of the photo, the hair on the left side should stop it from looking to centred, it should enhance the impression of trying to keep warm. It would't matter if she loses her elbow as the eyes and top of the coat are the focus of the photo. As for the model looking awkward, it happens all the time. the way i have found of dealing with that is talking to them all the time, if you can get them talking about something they like you can get some great photos.
